Track laying construction on the subterranean Metro Line 3 of Mumbai (Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ) is reportedly over 60% finished, as reported by the MMRC (Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation), which will be building this line.
A Japanese manufacturer produced and imported Head Hardened (HH) railways, which can bear roughly 50% higher pressure than conventional rails. The Lower Vibration Track system is being applied for the first time in India. These railway tracks will lessen the 22VdB or less noise and vibration level that is produced when trains operate on this line (vibration measurement).
The Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ Metro-3 Corridor’s first phase, from Aarey to BKC, is expected to begin operation in 2023, according to a recent statement by MMRCL.
MMRC claims that more than 90% of the Phase 1 station is operational and that 55% of the system’s construction has been finished. Nine underground stations make up Phase 1 of the Metro 3 subterranean line’s 26 total stations. These stations are situated 20 to 29 metres below the surface.
