Central government employees who were transferred to new cities do face trouble finding houses. And sometimes, they can’t even find a house under their budget. So, to help get affordable houses for them, the government has started the General Pool Residential Accommodation Scheme.
Those who want to apply for the GPRA scheme can go through e-sampada online platform, which was initiated by the housing ministry. In the beginning, the allotments for the accommodations were concluded through the e-Awas online platform. To complete the process, the employee needs to fulfil every required criterion.
However, the housing allotment under the scheme is usually done as a unified waiting list. And the applications are accepted through the online Automated System of Allotment (ASA).
This housing facility through the GPRA scheme is available in 31 locations which also has Delhi, Chandigarh, Chennai, Kolkata, and Mumbai.
Government employees can avail of several benefits like accommodation maintenance, clearance certificate, housing allotment for temporary purposes, etc.
