As per Savills India, a worldwide business of property consultancy, private equity investment expenditures into the real estate market of India totalled $3.4 billion (Rs 271 billion) at the end of the year 2022.
According to data, commercial office assets continued to lead the pack in 2022, capturing nearly half (45%) of the capital industry. The demand from end users drove strong development in the residential and commercial sectors as well.
“In India, where commercial office continues to be the favoured investment product and accounts for around a third of the region’s overall office space demand, Office REITs are becoming more prevalent, and as domestic investor engagement rises, this tendency will intensify, “said the company’s managing director for capital markets, Diwakar Rana.
The company anticipates private equity real estate investments of $3.5 billion to $4.0 billion in 2023.
