The building of 21 new greenfield airports within the nation has collected “in principle” clearance from the Indian government. As per the Civil Aviation Minister Mr Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, the airports at Navi Mumbai, Hassan, Vijayapura, Hirasar, Noida (Jewar), & Dholera are anticipated to be finished within the upcoming 3 years.
In a response to a Lok Sabha question, Minister Jyotiraditya M Scindia said that 11 of the total 21 airports were being executed in the previous 3 years.
The 21 greenfield airports across the country are as follows,
Goa- Mopa
Maharashtra- Navi Mumbai, Sidhudurg, and Shirdi
Karnataka- Kalaburagi, Hassan, Vijayapura, and Shivamogga
Madhya Pradesh- Dabra (Gwalior)
Uttar Pradesh- Noida (Jewar) and Kushinagar
Gujarat- Hirasar and Dholera
Puducherry- Karaikal city
Andhra Pradesh- Bhogapuram, Dagadarthi and Orvakal (Kurnool)
West Bengal- Durgapur
Kerala- Kannur
Sikkim- Pakyong
Arunachal Pradesh- Hollongi (Itanagar)
Out of the remaining greenfield airports for which this ministry has given “in-principle” approval, Navi Mumbai, Hassan, Vijayapura, Hirasar Noida (Jewar), and Dholera are expected to be completed within the next three years.
