MahaRERA has announced that it will take legal action against projects that are advertised without being registered with them. They have observed that advertisements for such projects are appearing in newspapers without mentioning the MahaRERA registration number. Homebuyers are being cautioned against investing in projects that lack the MahaRERA registration number.
According to officials, project promoters have been advertising their projects in newspapers without reference to the MahaRERA registration number, claiming that they did not include it because the project was not explicitly referenced in the ad.
MahaRERA authority has taken serious observation of these deformities and has started taking action by issuing notices to these building projects.
The Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act requires that developers must register with MahaRERA before advertising, registering, or selling units in a project. However, some developers have advertised their projects without the registration number, while others have claimed that it is registered without the number.
The Act also mandates that any project exceeding 500 square meters or containing more than eight flats must be registered with MahaRERA.
