The first people to move into their new 500-square-foot apartments will be the residents of Worli BDD Chawls.
The six towers, each standing 40 stories tall, would be completed by December 2024, according to Anil Diggikar, CEO and vice-president of the Maharashtra Housing Area Development Authority (Mhada).
Additionally, work is moving along quickly on N M Joshi Marg & Naigaum in Dadar. There are now no significant obstacles for tenants & residents of these chawls, he stated.
Eknath Shinde, the chief minister, and Devendra Fadnavis, his deputy, reviewed the project on Monday. On the BDD chawl property, Shinde allowed 300 square foot dwellings for slum residents. There are 121 chawls in Worli with 9689 tenants.
