In order to start the land acquisition process for the western section of the proposed 170 KM Pune Ring road, the district’s land acquisition officers have submitted a demand for Rs 3,500 crore to the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC).
Pune city and Pimpri-Chinchwad should become less congested as a result of the proposed ring road. For 32 villages throughout the four talukas, the compensation sum has been set. Officers in charge of land purchase stated that if the funding has been approved, the procedure might start the following month.
“The tariffs for these 32 villages in the four talukas of Haveli, Mulshi, Maval, Bhor, and Khed were decided upon. The compensation amounts for the remaining communities will also be finalised as parts of the western phase, which includes this. A senior land-acquiring officer from the Pune district administration stated, “Once we receive the compensation payment, we hope to begin the procedure of taking consent and acquiring the land.” He stated that the procedure is anticipated to begin on February 15 and end in March once the money has been received from the MSRDC.
Land acquisition officials intend to host exclusive camps where residents can sign consent forms. According to the legal documentation, the compensation will be delivered either via check the same day it is received or within a few days, the official stated. To ensure that farmers receive fair compensation for their holdings, the administration has accounted for the overall area of the land as well as any trees, homes, and other assets.
Two phases will be needed to complete the east and west-zoned ring road project. The entire cost of purchasing the land will probably be Rs. 10,520 crores. The estimated cost of building the ring road is Rs17,723 crore.
The cabinet gave the MSRDC permission last month to obtain a loan from HUDCO in the amount of Rs35,629 crore in order to purchase land for three significant road infrastructure developments in the state, along with the Pune ring road. In the future, the MSRDC intends to build a motorway network and 5,000 km of roadways. The Pune ring road, the Virar-Alibug multipurpose corridor, and the Jalna-Nanded Expressway are the three main road infrastructure projects.
