Also, annual capital expenditure for railway capacity growth has been increased by the Indian government.
In this regard, the southeastern railway’s third-line project between Kharagpur and Adityapur is almost finished. The project’s construction is currently 82% complete. The project is 132 KM long overall, of which 90.583 KM have already been given the green light.
Seventeen of the 19 bridges have been completed. It’s anticipated that the new line construction will be finished this year. RVNL (Rail Vikas Nigam Limited), a category-I Mini-Ratna CPSE under the Ministry of Railways, is in charge of carrying out the project.
Trains from the South Eastern Railway connect Gujarat, Maharashtra, and other Western Indian states (SER).
Construction of the third line, which is expected to cost INR 131,20 million, has been approved for the years 2015 and 2016. The project extends over 55 kilometres in West Bengal and 77 km in Jharkhand.
The segment between Kharagpur and Adityapur is a severely congested road with excessive traffic. As a result, maintaining smooth train operations became vital for the railways. This recently built line is part of the Howrah-Mumbai Trunk route. Once completed, the new railway line will boost capacity while easing traffic. The extra money from this will help the Indian Railways.
