Devendra Fadnavis, the state’s deputy chief minister, today proposed a 1% stamp duty rebate for women. The Maharashtra Government’s action, which came one day after the commemoration of International Women’s Day, is anticipated to lower the cost of homeownership for women in the state.’
According to Homebazaar.com, the Maharashtra Government’s initiative will help women in the state feel more at home in their own homes while also enabling them to save money on the cost of property registration.
The retention of the 1% stamp duty concession for female homeowners is the standout feature of the Maharashtra state budget. The action will support women’s desire for homeownership. The budget closely followed the infra push that was mentioned in the Union Budget.
The initiative to improve connectivity and infrastructure in Maharashtra will present chances for a variety of real estate development types, including residential, retail, commercial, and warehousing. The increased connectivity will spur the development of new real estate micro-markets and lead to the formation of new epicentres for Mumbai and the MMR.
Given the potential, it appears likely that the real estate industry would play a large role in Maharashtra’s economy and contribute significantly to the aim of a $5 trillion Indian economy.
Furthermore, Fadnavis stated that women will receive a 50% discount on state buses.
The Maharashtra government also intends to build 40,000 new homes under the PM Awas programme, of which 25,000 will go to the Matang Samaj and 1.5 lakhs to the underprivileged.
